Step 9. Permitting

After receiving Architectural Controls approval to build in a Master Planned Community, permitting becomes the next step. Cities use permitting as a tool of control for many reasons, including but not limited to; Building Code adherence, Bylaw compliance, Safety, Taxation, Infrastructure and Budgeting. All new residential builds are required to strictly follow the rules set out on a municipal, provincial and federal level. Permitting also opens a file for all future inspections during the build to ensure continued compliance and safety. "The Oxford" must be built to meet or exceed all of the updated building codes of 2020.
