Step 16. Framing Of First Subfloor
Concrete has an average cure/strength time of; 10% strength in 24 hours, 50% strength in 7 days and 90% strength in 28 days depending on the type of concrete used. Taking this average guideline into consideration we choose to use an additional step in the reinforcement of our new foundation prior to Backfilling. Backfilling is defined as - to refill (an excavated hole) with the material dug out of it. Our framers will commence the important task of capping the foundation or installing the first floor sub-floor. This important step will give our new concrete foundation lateral strength from the top to counter-act the weight of the backfill.
